Forensic Interviews
Scheduled by local law enforcement agencies or Alabama Department of Human Resources after a report of abuse is received. A forensic interview is a factual interview of the child victim conducted in a “child friendly” interview room. The interviewer is trained in forensic interviewing, children`s language and development. Tri-County CAC staff members conduct forensic interviews.


Mental Health Therapy

Offered to child victims interviewed at Tri-County CAC. The therapy is provided by Tri-County staff members. Each staff member have a  Master's Degress in counseling and are licensed in the State of Alabama. This therapy helps to reduce trauma and restore lost childhoods. Services are free of charge.


Court Education and Preparation Sessions
Offered to each child victim and their families as their case progresses through the court system. These sessions help to educate the child and their families about the court system and make them as comfortable as possible. .


Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Therapists at the Tri-County Children's Advocacy Center are trained to offer the specialized service of Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. TF-CBT is a conjoint child and parent psychotherapy approach for children and adolescents who are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic life events. Children and parents learn new skills to help process thoughts and feelings related to traumatic life events, manage and resolve distressing thoughts, feelings and behaviors related to traumatic life events; and enhance safety.
